Travis Fisher is the owner and Director of Perth Diesel Performance (PDP) Australia’s premier provider of aftermarket upgrade performance parts for Toyota 4WDs. His automotive mechanical expertise began at the age of 17, with an apprenticeship at Phoenix Holden. Upon successful completion, he was offered a supervisor position and an electric automotive apprenticeship. He chose this over his pre-planned gap year to travel Australia, but this didn’t diminish his love of off-the-beaten-track exploration–something that his passion for the world of 4x4s satisfied. He continued to hone his mechanical prowess throughout his electric apprenticeship. Once qualified, and dual-traded, he stayed at Phoenix Holden until 2007. His entrepreneurial spirit could no longer be held in check – it was time to unleash both his business prowess and love of all things 4WD by opening his own mechanical workshop. Having owned and upgraded many different Toyota 4x4s over the years, word of his expertise soon spread. Perth’s 4WD-ers were soon entrusting their beloved vehicles to Trav for the best servicing, tuning and improvements. However, as an avid owner and driver of a variety of Land Cruiser models, Travis had his eye on expansion... Through his off-road adventures, Travis knew that the Aussie environment presented particular challenges for4x4s. Despite Land Cruisers offering in all their iterations – the 70 series, 200 and 300 – hardcore use meant that alterations and upgrades were needed for the ultimate experience. Back in the late 2000s, there was a distinct lack of home - grown and produced performance parts that could truly cope with the unique Aussie environment. So, he decided to research and create a range of DIY upgrades that were precisely designed for 4WD owners to easily install themselves. It was from this idea that Perth Diesel Performance was born. After years of owning, driving, using and abusing Toyota’s world-beating off-roaders, Trav was well-versed in all of the model’s strengths and flaws. Today, PDP’s vast inventory of performance parts includes a unique range of accessories and upgrades in kit form that have been designed, tested and proven in all conditions. Very importantly, all PDP parts have been created for installation without the need for any vehicle modifications whatsoever. Today, Trav continues to innovate and design high-quality parts and accessories for the 4WD community. This includes a weekly blog and countless YouTube presentations showcasing both how-to accessory fitting guides and other 4WD videos. He’s one of Australia’s foremost subject matter experts on off-roading and has been featured on Channel 7 alongside some of the biggest names in the industry. The most notable of these is Ronny Dahl, who has used Trav’s expertise to tune and upgrade his vehicles since 2007 and continues to use and endorse PDP parts to this day.
